on Whiskey Creek

Water Watch is a citizen engagement program designed by The Downstream Project to help watershed groups connect with members and activate volunteers. Water Watch is built around two cloud-and-web-based applications developed by The Commons: Water Reporter, a social networking app that shares images, observations, and monitoring data that fuels social media campaigns for improving water quality; and Field Doc, which measures watershed restoration impacts of best management practices at the project and parcel level.

Bobby Whitescarver and Jeanne Hoffman are using FieldDoc and WaterReporter to document the effectiveness of BMPs on their Whiskey Creek Farm to reduce nutrient, sediment, and bacteria loads into Whiskey Creek and Middle River. Discontinued monitoring data from their former Meadow View Farm is also mapped.

Together we can keep the Middle River Clean!
